Backups and recovery

What do I get when I deploy an app?
A dedicated virtual server that runs only your app. It comes with a web address, a TLS certificate, an admin account, and scheduled backups.
How does billing work?
You add credit to your account with an online payment. Each service is charged to that balance by the hour while it exists. Each plan has a monthly cap, so a full month never costs more than the price you saw before deploying. We warn you before the balance runs out. If it reaches zero, your services are deleted and their backups stay restorable for about 14 days.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Add a domain in the service settings, create the DNS record we show you, and verify it. We issue the certificate.
Can I change the server later?
Yes. Resize in the same region, or migrate to another region or cloud. Your data and domains move with the app.
What happens to my backups?
Backups are encrypted and stored off-site. Storage up to twice the disk size is included. You can restore in place or into a new service.
Do I pay per user?
No. You pay for the server, not for seats. Invite as many people as the app supports. We install the open-source edition of every app; some makers sell paid editions separately.
Do I need to know how to run a server?
No. Deploying, updates, backups, certificates, domains and resizing all happen from the dashboard. You never touch the server unless you want to.
